WHAT: "Water and Power in the History of Los Angeles,"
LADWP's traveling historical exhibit that chronicles
the development of the nation's largest municipal
utility and provides insight into the role LADWP has
played in the development of the City of Los
Angeles, will be on display for a special viewing at
Ports O' Call Village in San Pedro. The exhibit will
be free and open to the public from August 22 until
October 6, 2002.

WHY: LADWP celebrates 100 years of service to the
residents and businesses of Los Angeles. Without the
foundation and foresight of city leaders and
visionaries such as William Mulholland and E.F.
Scattergood to invest in and develop vital water and
power systems, the City of Los Angeles may not have
become the important metropolis it is today.
