What:       Santa Claus will bring holiday cheer to school children
            through gifts. LADWP employees will help distribute gifts.
            Some of the lesson material gift items are funded by the
            Department as part of the Adopt-A-School Program.

Background: Adopt-A-School is a specialized partnership emphasizing
            employee involvement that includes reading to students,
            giving presentations to classes on a variety of subjects,
            and providing additional resources to enhance the
            instructional program. In Los Angeles more than 1000
            companies, non-profit organizations and governmental
            agencies have adopted more than 80% of LAUSD schools.
