WHAT:  LADWP, in conjunction with the American Public Power
       Association, will celebrate National Public Power Week,
       Oct. 6-13, 2001. DWP will open its doors to educate customers
       about safety and the benefits of public power.

       DWP customers are invited to bring their families for a
       fun-filled day:

       -- Electrical safety exhibits

       -- How power is distributed in Los Angeles

       -- Green Power, outdoor area lighting and solar power booths

       -- The latest energy efficiency and water conservation
          incentives

       -- Job opportunities at Los Angeles DWP

       In addition, there will be a chance to win an energy efficient
       refrigerator or other great prizes. Compact fluorescent bulbs
       that cut lighting bills will be given to customers who complete
       a survey. One per family. Refreshments will be served.

WHEN:  Saturday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
