WHAT: The Los Angeles Community College District Board of
Trustees will hold a "Committee of the Whole"
meeting to hear public input on proposed
sustainability (green) building design standards for
new facilities funded by Proposition A.
The board meeting will conclude a series of four
public forums sponsored by the LACCD and will
provide members of the public an additional
opportunity to comment on the bond program's master
outline specifications, currently in development for
sustainability and greening. The District will hear
a presentation from program manager, DMJM/JGM,
followed by input from the community. Current
measurement criteria relative to sustainability as
well as systems in use today will be presented to
the Board. Solar panels, light pollution reduction,
water efficient landscaping and energy efficient
heat storage are just a few of the "green" measures
that will be incorporated into the new Proposition A
funded facilities.

measure overwhelmingly approved in April by Los
Angeles voters to repair and rehabilitate facilities
at all nine of the LACCD campuses. The LACCD
