As Los Angeles Stars "Starlettes," the squad of 14 cheerleaders will represent the team at all home games as well as at promotional events throughout Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, .

The "Starlettes" will perform pre-game and half-times shows as well as during the game and help bring excitement back to the legendary Forum basketball court.

The Los Angeles Stars kick off their season on Dec. 26, 2000, and will play a 60-game schedule with 30 home games, plus possible playoff games.

All women, ages 18 and older, with at least two years' dancing experience, are invited to attend. All candidates are required to wear sneakers sneakers
