"Barbershop" to Speak at Event MEDIA ALERT
WHAT: 250 students, selected from 10 Cleveland High Schools, will be
participating in the 2nd Annual Youth Empowerment Summit.
Designed as a three-day interactive experience, the goal of the
Summit is to encourage students to aim high and teach skills
that will make their dreams a reality, including giving back to
the community. Students will have an opportunity to hear from
educators and role models from the Cleveland community, shadow
employees (mentors) from sponsoring organizations to set career
roadmaps, and participate in a community service project.

sophomore and juniors.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25 (Day 2 - Career Counseling / Job Shadowing)

GE Consumer Products, The Greater Cleveland Growth
Association and Ohio Savings Bank employees will
serve as mentors for students in a Job Shadowing
Day, aimed at helping students set personal goals
and career roadmaps.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2002 (Day 3 - Community Service)

Employees from sponsoring organizations will team up
with the United Way and students to help make a
difference in the Cleveland community. Students will
identify projects and complete them in each of their
school neighborhoods.
