WHAT:   Local members of McDonald's restaurant crew will compete in
        the Indianapolis Region McDonald's All-American Crew program,
        an Olympic qualifying event that could earn them a spot on
        McDonald's Olympic Crew for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in
        Salt Lake City. McAthletes will be judged on speed, accuracy,
        personality and teamwork. Team positions include French Fries,
        dining room, front counter, grill, drive-thru and cashier.

WHEN:   August 11, 2001, 10:30 a.m.

BACKGROUND:   The winning McAthletes from the South Bend/Fort Wayne
              area are advancing to McDonald's Indianapolis region
              finals, and then on to the Great Lakes division finals
              on September 22nd. The Division's best crew person at
              each position will represent McDonald's at the 2002
              Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City (February 8-24,
              2002).

Last year, Niles, MI resident, Roberta Morrison, took the Bronze Medal
in the French Fry category during McDonalds first ever International
Crew Olympics.
