Join members of five Northeast Ohio trade organizations as a local expert gives his view on opportunities in Northeast Ohio's rapidly expanding information technology field.

Jim Cookinham, president of the Northeast Ohio Software Association (NEOSA), will speak from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Feb. 21, 2001 at the New Horizons Computer Learning Center (in the Realty One building behind the Holiday Inn), 6000 Rockside Woods Blvd., Independence, Ohio. Known for his energetic and entertaining presentations, Cookinham will share his views on how NEOSA's member firms are making a splash in the information technology field and are growing, so they need technical writers, trainers and other communications/ training/ consultant/ content delivery expertise.

The event is co-sponsored by five Northeast Ohio trade organizations: Society for Technical Communication, Media Communications International, Association for Women in Communications, American Society for Training and Development and the International Association of Business Communicators.

Cookinham is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (B.S. Engineering) and attended the Navy Nuclear Power School. He served in the United States Navy for five years. He received his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

For his civilian career, Jim began with Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He worked in engineering and project management positions in both Europe and the United States. Later, he served as Vice President/General Manager of Panelmatic, Inc. of Youngstown Ohio; President of Cleveland Energy Resources; and Vice President, Marketing, of Mid America Energy Resources, Inc.

NEOSA is comprised of software development organizations and companies that provide support and services to the local software industry in Northeast Ohio. The association has more than 400 members, many of which are the area's largest Information Technology companies and universities.
