Proposal for ecovillage Ecovillages are intended to be socially, economically and ecologically sustainable intentional communities. Most aim for a population of 50-150 individuals because this size is considered to be the maximum social network according to findings from sociology and anthropology (Hill &  in Lawrence Lawrence.

WHAT:   Slide show presentation on proposal to develop an ecovillage
        at 4 Union Street, Lawrence, Massachusetts, site of the former
        Cotton Duck mill. The 45-minute presentation will discuss the
        many benefits of an eco-village at this location. Those
        include:

        --  Mixed residential-commercial use of 130,000-square-foot
            site

        --  96 units, ranging from one bedroom to four; starting
            asking price of $150,000

        --  loft-style living

        --  15,000 square feet of commercial space

        --  Pedestrian-friendly with close proximity to shops in
            downtown Lawrence

        --  Boston commuter-friendly located a mere 1,200 feet from
            the new MBTA commuter rail station; a 50-minute train ride
            to Boston's North Station

        --  Telecommuting and home office- friendly with high speed
            connections for Internet access and wireless
            communications

        --  Generous parking space and waterfront garden areas for
            tenants and business use
