ABOUT: About the Life Time Fitness Triathlon

Set to occur on Saturday, August 2nd, 2003, in Minneapolis,
and now in its second year, the 2003 Life Time Fitness
Triathlon already has become internationally renowned with its
exciting and dramatic "battle of the sexes" format, and
record-setting prize purse. In 2003, more than 2000 of the
world's elite professional and amateur athletes from 15
countries and 35 states are expected to participate in the
        Minneapolis Aquatennial-sanctioned event.

Redefining the sport, the 2003 Triathlon features, "the
Equalizer," a unique timing structure that allows professional
women and men to compete on equal ground, resulting in a new
and innovative competition format, and a dramatic race to the
finish for the first place prize. In 2002, The Equalizer
resulted in a mere 15-second gap between the winner, Barb
Lindquist of Idaho and the lead male, Craig Walton of
        Australia.

Furthermore, the race features a stunning course, beginning
and ending at Minneapolis' Lake Nokomis and covering a 27-mile
path within the City's beautiful Parkway system.
