WHY: With an overall professional and amateur prize purse of
$50,000, the Life Time Fitness 10K will draw participants
from across the United States and around the world.
The race begins and ends at the Minneapolis Life Time
Athletic Club and showcases an exciting course that runs
through Downtown Minneapolis and along the Mississippi River.
Adding to the event's drama is, "The Equalizer," a
unique, Life Time Fitness timing structure that allows
professional women and men to compete on equal ground.
Based on current World, American 10K and other 10K road race
records, The Equalizer allows pro women to start
ahead of pro men by a predetermined amount of time.
With this new and innovative competition format,
spectators will be on the edge of their seats as
they watch the female and male pros battle for first
place!
