It provides year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type summer and winter sports for participants. Texas Area Spring Games comes to Dallas-Fort Worth over the next two weekends, as more than 1,500 local Special Olympics Texas athletes compete.

place Friday, April 25 through Saturday April 26, at
the University of Texas at Arlington's Maverick
Stadium, 1307 W. Mitchell in Arlington, TX.
The 2003 Greater Dallas Area Spring Games take place
Friday May 2 through Saturday May 3 at Bishop Lynch
High School Stadium, 9750 Ferguson Road in Dallas, TX.
About The Athletes compete in a variety of Olympic-sports such
Games: as athletics (track & field), soccer, cycling and
tennis. Athletes must train a minimum of eight weeks
prior to competing (age 8 and older with no maximum
age).
