News & Assignment Editors/Health & Medical Writers

ADVISORY...for Monday Monday: see week.  (Feb. 25)

--(BW HealthWire)

Sanarus Medical, Inc.

What: During the 12th Annual National Interdisciplinary Breast
Center Conference, an educational session will focus on
the concepts, practical benefits and limitations of new,
minimally-invasive methods for biopsy, localization and
treatment of breast conditions. Minimally-invasive biopsy
            devices that incorporate ultrasound-guidance, traditional
surgical biopsy techniques as well as a spectrum of
instruments including portable ultrasound and localizing
devices will be discussed and demonstrated. In addition,
concepts and practical information about new therapeutic
devices will be discussed, including cryoablation
            techniques.

Who: Cary S. Kaufman, M.D., F.A.C.S., clinical assistant
professor of surgery, University of Washington School of
Medicine, will be leading the discussion. The panel will
include: Edward P. Dalton, M.D., F.A.C.S., Yuri Parisky,
            M.D. and Shelley Nakamura, M.D.

Why: Women are demanding less invasive options in health care.
Thus, breast centers want to provide their patients with
minimally-invasive approaches for diagnosis and treatment
of breast disease. Dr. Kaufman will present new,
minimally-invasive techniques designed to conserve breast
tissue. It is estimated that half of all women will seek
consultation for a breast disorder in their lifetime.
