The Gala will be held June 2, 2000 at the Moraine moraine (mərān`), a formation composed of unsorted and unbedded rock and soil debris called till, which was deposited by a glacier. The till that falls on the sides of a valley glacier from the bounding cliffs makes up lateral moraines,  Country Club.

The event promises to be an elegant evening with a Renaissance flair. Entertainment, dinner and dancing will center around the "Man of the Year" award, as well as an exciting live and silent auction. The auctions will allow participants to bid on a "Fund A Cure" research grant which will be established in the winning bidder's name.

In addition to his work with Juvenile Diabetes, Mr. Harkness has been very active in health-related organizations as well as civic endeavors on a state, national and international level. Professionally, he is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) is an international professional association of healthcare executives (high-level hospital administrators, CEOs, COOs, health system officers, etc.) Its central offices are located at 1 N. , has received the 1999 Regent's Award and is past chairman of the Dayton Area Hospital Association. Locally, Mr. Harkness serves,or has served, on the boards of Ohio United Way, and the United Way of Greater Dayton, the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the Area Progress Council, the Montgomery County Montgomery County may refer to:

At the state level, Mr. Harkness served on Governor Voinovich's Children's Hospital A children's hospital is a hospital which offers its services exclusively to children. JDF Quest Gala is the premier of an annual series of Galas designed by the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation to raise money to fund research to find a cure for diabetes.
