                1,500 entrants

Relay sponsor:  Latitude Communications, based in Santa Clara, CA


Background:     Latitude, the SJIT lead sponsor, hosts its yearly
                "Children's Charity Challenge" to raise funds for Via
                Rehabilitation Services, a non-profit that helps
                people with disabilities lead richer lives. For the
                charity challenge, Latitude invites people to compete
                in relay teams, donating entrance fees ($225 per team)
                to Via. Latitude hopes to raise $10,000.
