WHAT: LPGA star Meg Mallon will conduct a golf clinic and play a
round of golf with 16 lucky Boston area golfers. Mallon is
sharing her tournament winning skills after beating PGA TOUR
star Corey Pavin in a month-long birdie contest as part of the
American Stroke Challenge. Throughout Stroke Awareness Month
in May, Bayer(R) Aspirin donated $1,500 to the American Stroke
Association (ASA) for each birdie Mallon and Pavin scored.
Mallon scored 39 birdies to beat Pavin's 21, raising a total
of $250,000 for stroke research and education.
Boston area public golf courses edged out Dallas and other
cities around the nation for this unique opportunity by
collecting the most sweepstakes entries for the American
Stroke Challenge Million Dollar Hole-in-One Contest last
month.
The American Stroke Challenge is a national stroke education
program sponsored by Bayer Aspirin in cooperation with the
ASA, a division of the American Heart Association.
