WHAT: LIFE TIME FITNESS TORCHLIGHT 5K Race
WHERE: The LIFE TIME FITNESS Torchlight 5K begins at the front
steps of the historic downtown Basilica of St. Mary (Hennepin
Avenue and 17th Street) and ends across the Mississippi River
at Boom Island. The racecourse leads participants east along
Hennepin Avenue, south on 3rd Street, East on Portland, north
along the Mississippi River and east across the Plymouth
Avenue Bridge to Boom Island.
WHEN: Wednesday, July 24
-- Race day registration - 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
-- Wheelchair start - 7:55 p.m.
-- Race begins - 8:00 p.m.
WHY: Join LIFE TIME FITNESS, more than 2,000 participants, and
150,000 spectators as they kick off the Torchlight Parade with
the Torchlight 5K Race.
Produced and Sponsored by LIFE TIME FITNESS, the Torchlight 5K
Race is a USATF certified course.
Registration: Race day registration is available at the Basilica
of St. Mary (6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.). Entry fee: $20.00.
Awards: Awards will be given to the top three overall males and
females and the top three males and females in the following
age groups:
19 and under 40 - 49 60 - 69
20 - 29 50 - 59 70 and over
30 - 39
Shuttles: Metro Transit will provide shuttle service from the
finish line to the start area. Parking is based on
availability in the area. Note: no parking is available at
Dunwoody Institute.
