WHAT: Life time fitness Desert Dash Adventure Race combines
mountain biking, trail running, canoeing/kayaking and mystery
challenges

Race Check-In: 6:00-8:00 a.m.
Pre-Race Meeting: 8:30 a.m.
Race begins at 10:30 a.m. (Event will end no later than
10:30 p.m.)
WHY: The LIFE TIME FITNESS Desert Dash features a 15-25 mile
mountain bike course, 5-10 mile trail run, an 8-12 mile
canoeing/kayaking excursion, and several "mystery challenges,"
involving both mental and physical problem-solving obstacles.
In order to maintain a level playing field for all ages and
fitness levels, the exact order and distance of events will
not be revealed until the morning of the race.
Rapidly growing in popularity, adventure racing is a teamwork
challenge that combines mountain biking, trail running and
other physical activities, along with numerous secret
challenges. Typically a one-day event, adventure races test
participants' physical and mental endurance, and are
appropriate for weekend warriors and professional adventure
racers alike.
Team members must complete each section of the course together
and cross the finish line as a group, enhancing the atmosphere
of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Teams also must be
self-sustaining, requiring that they provide all gear, fluid
and fuel replacement needed during the race without outside
assistance. Participants are, however, allowed and encouraged
to help other teams.
The LIFE TIME FITNESS Desert Dash is an eco-sensitive event.
As such, teams leaving any trash, bottles or equipment on the
course or transition area will be disqualified
DIRECTIONS: Take I-15 North and exit on I-215 East. I-215 East
will become Lake Mead Drive in Henderson. Continue on Lake
Mead Drive. It will become Lake Shore Drive. Continue on Lake
Shore Drive until the Boulder Beach turnoff. Event signs will
be posted near turnoff. A $4 National Parks Service fee will
apply. The total drive from Las Vegas is estimated to be 15-20
minutes.
