       WHAT:  As part of a $112-million construction program called
              "Gateway LAX Enhancement Project," the new 32 foot-high
              "LAX" sign located at Century Boulevard, 11 variable
              height pylons constructed in the median of Century
              Boulevard, and 15 100-foot-high pylons located at the
              Century/Sepulveda Interchange will be "lit" during the a
              lighting ceremony. Mayor Riordan, airport officials and
              others will briefly discuss the significance of the LAX
              Enhancement Projects currently underway during a
              reception at an adjacent hotel.

              The "Gateway LAX Enhancement Project" is an aesthetic
              upgrade to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the
              western United States' premier international travel,
              trade and tourism hub.  Designed to make the facility
              more attractive and convenient, in addition to the
              pylons, planned upgrades include new landscaping,
              improved signage and lighting, a new public address
              system for the Lower/Arrivals Level, and other practical
              improvements for the benefit of all airport users.
