Los Angeles International Airport (IATA: LAX, ICAO: KLAX, FAA LID: LAX
 (LAX) will discuss Memorial Day weekend and summer travel and new services on Thursday, May 23.


WHAT:       News conference to discuss summer travel volumes and new
            user-friendly services at LAX, including:
            --  LAX Ambassadors
            --  Additional passenger screening points
            --  New self-service, electronic check-in computer kiosks

WHEN:       9 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002

WHERE:      Upper/Departure Level of Terminal 4, adjacent to passenger
            screening checkpoint, Los Angeles International Airport

WHO:        Paul H. Green, Chief Operating Officer at Los Angeles
            World Airports

WHY:        With more than 700,000 travelers expected to pass through
            LAX between Friday and Monday, the Memorial Day weekend
            will be the busiest travel period at LAX since September
            11. Airport officials forecast that LAX will serve
            approximately 16.2 million passengers from June through
            August. Many passengers will be returning to the airways
            for the first time since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks
            and will be greeted with new services.

PARKING:    Broadcast-equipped TV and radio vehicles may park curbside
            at Terminal 4 on Upper/Departure Level. All other media
            may park for free at metered parking stalls located at
            open-air Parking Lots 3, 4 (across from terminal) or 6 by
            displaying the LAX Media Parking Permit. To obtain a media
            parking permit, please call LAX Public Relations at
            310/646-5260. Otherwise, media may use any parking
            facility and pay posted fee.
