Local Utility And Councilman Parks Provide Area Youth

With A Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunity To Play

Basketball basketball, game played generally indoors by two opposing teams of five players each. What: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and Los
      Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks (8th District) are teaming
      up with the Los Angeles Clippers to provide 20 children with the
      once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play basketball on the court
      at Staples Center. The children, ages 10-14, will learn
      basketball skills techniques from Clippers players and coaches.
      Immediately following the on-court activity, the youngsters will
      be treated to tickets to watch the Clippers play in their season
      finale against the Portland Trailblazers.

Who: - Los Angeles Clippers players and coaches
     - 20 boys and girls from Audubon Middle School (Leimert Park)
     - LADWP Representative - Gale Harris, Corporate Communications

When: Wednesday, April 16
      4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Where: Staples Center
       1111 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90015
       (Meet at the 11th Street entrance located on North side of
       Staples Center)

Photo Op: Twenty (20) young boys and girls receiving one-on-one
          instruction from Clippers players and coaches on the court
          at the Staples Center.

Why: The event is one of the many ways that LADWP demonstrates its
     commitment to the community and the youth of Los Angeles.
     Councilman Bernard Parks extended the invitation to Audubon
     Middle School's after school program, Beyond the Bell, which is
     located in his district.
