    LADWP Partners With Dodgers Alex Cora and Al Downing to Promote
            Student Achievement at Hollywood Middle School

WHAT:    The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Department of
         Water and Power (LADWP) are teaming up to bring one of the
         partnership's most welcomed community outreach programs --
         Dodger Jams -- to Le Conte Middle School in Hollywood. Dodger
         Jams is a school assembly featuring live music and
         entertainment combined with motivational messages from Dodger
         Alex Cora and former Dodger-great Al Downing. Designed to
         award students for achievement and encourage students to get
         involved in their community, the program will focus on the
         theme "It's all about T.E.A.M. -- Teamwork, Effort, Attitude
         and Motivation."

         Former Dodger-great Al Downing (1971-1977 seasons)
         LADWP Representatives
         Hundreds of middle school students

WHEN:    Wednesday, July 17, 2002
         1:30 p.m.
         1:30-3:00 p.m. -- Dodger Jams

WHERE:   Le Conte Middle School Auditorium
         1316 N. Bronson Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028

WHY:     The event is one of many the LADWP sponsors to demonstrate
         its commitment to the community and the children of Los
         Angeles. Other events include the Dodger Power Hitter Clinics
         and Competitions and Dodger Community Salute programs.
