        7.8 mile Trail Run to top of Mt. Hollywood, Kiddie Fun Run;

        Entertainment and prizes

WHEN:   Sunday, Oct. 27 at 8 a.m., Runs Begin

        7:30 a.m. Expo Opens; Stage Announcements, Green LA Band
        7:45 a.m. YMCA Aerobic Exercise Warm-up
        9:00 a.m. Recognition Awards, LA Zoo -- Sponsor of the Year
        9:20 a.m.-9:55 a.m. 5K, 10K, Trail Run Awards
        10:00 a.m. Kiddie Fun Run

WHERE:  Griffith Park, south of Zoo, across (west) of Ranger Station

WHO:    Councilmember Tom LaBonge, signals beginning of runs
        Councilmember Dennis Zine
        LA County Sheriff Lee Baca
        Angelina Galiteva, LADWP Director of Green LA
        LAPD Reserve Officers with electric vehicle as a fundraiser
        LAPD vintage 1950's police car
        2,500 high school runners from Students Run LA organization
        LADWP and city employee runners
        Rock climbing wall and moon bounce for children

WHY:    Event promotes the LADWP Green LA Programs that
        include Energy Efficiency's Appliance Rebates; Solar Power
        Incentive Program; Green Power bringing new clean renewable
        energy to the city; Trees for a Green LA providing up to seven
        free shade trees for residents that attend two-hour workshops;
        Electric Transportation, promoting zero emission vehicles;
        Cool Schools that help lower bills, beautify campuses and
        teach students about the environment
