North Hollywood High School North Hollywood High School, originally called Lankershim High School when it opened in 1927, is a secondary school in North Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. The school mascot is the husky, and the school colors are blue, white, grey.  to Defend Regional Title


WHAT:       Twelfth Annual LADWP Science Bowl, a quiz show style
            high school competition centered on complex college-level
            math, science and technology questions. LADWP Science
            Bowl, the nation's most successful regional competition in
            U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl program.
            Local teams have won four national titles and placed in
            top four, seven times since 1995. The Franklin Lu Hands-On
            Competition will also be held in the afternoon. Hands-On
            event named for late employee volunteer.

WHEN:       Saturday, February 21, 2004
            -- 8:30 a.m. Competition begins -- Round Robin League Play
            -- 1-4 p.m.  Double elimination tournament of 16 teams
                         Franklin Lu Hands-On Competition, 30 teams
            -- 4:30 p.m. Approximate time for final round
                          of competition

WHERE:      LADWP Headquarters, John Ferraro Building,
            111 N. Hope Street, A-level,
            Downtown Los Angeles,
            Thomas Guide grid point 634-F3

WHO:        -- Celebrity Moderator Dr. Ed Krupp, director,
                city's Griffith Park Observatory
            -- More than 200 of the city's best and brightest students
                from 25 high schools and 42 teams
            -- About 100 volunteers, mainly DWP employees and their
                family members.

WHY:        Science Bowl seeks to showcase talents of local high
            school scholars, enhance student achievement by providing
            motivation and incentive for success, and to encourage
            students of all backgrounds to pursue studies and careers
            in math, science and technology fields. A total of 66
            regional competitions are held in 40 states, nine in
            California.

NOTE:       Parking and entrance off of First Street all day
