What: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and
the Los Angeles Dodgers are teaming up to bring Dodger Jams
to Adams Middle School in South Los Angeles. Dodger Jams
is a school assembly featuring a motivational session with
Dodger infielder Jolbert Cabrera and Dodger legend "Sweet"
Lou Johnson, immediately followed by live music and
performances that appeal to middle school youngsters. This
community outreach program recognizes hundreds of young
leaders at middle schools throughout Los Angeles for their
achievements both in and outside of the classroom and
focuses on the theme of T.E.A.M. (Teamwork, Effort,
Attitude and Motivation).
The LADWP "Water Wise" exhibit will also be on-hand staffed
by members of the LADWP Speakers Bureau who will educate
the children about water conservation and the wise use of
electricity during the summer months.
