Knabe (born October 15, 1943 in Illinois) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, serving the Fourth District, a crescent shaped district that covers the coastline from Marina Del Rey southward to Long Beach, and southeastern Los Angeles County to  and USEPA USEPA United States Environmental Protection Agency  Region 9 Acting Director, Water Division, Catherine Kuhlman will be among those joining members of the Coalition for Environmental Protection, Restoration and Development (CEPRD) on Thursday, January 30th from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. at the Aquarium of the Pacific The Aquarium of the Pacific is located in the city of Long Beach, California at the mouth of the Los Angeles River. The aquarium features a collection of over 12,500 animals representing almost 1,000 different species. , 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, to comment on the findings of a public opinion survey conducted in conjunction with CEPRD's soon to be completed, "Financing TMDL TMDL - Target-Machine Description Language  Development and NPDES NPDES National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (US EPA)  Permit Implementation for Los Angeles County" Project.

The survey, first of its kind in the region, was conducted among 600 high propensity voters in the cities of Diamond Bar, Downey, Glendale, Glendora, Long Beach, Palos Verdes Estates Palos Verdes Estates (păl`əs vûr`dēz), city (1990 pop. 13,512), Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1939. It is a residential community. , Santa Clarita and Santa Monica. It was designed to provide legislators, regulators and opinion makers with a better understanding of what it will take to secure support in conjunction with any new revenue needs that pending water quality initiatives may require.

"The Coalition undertook this project in recognition of the fact that even if unanimity existed as to what means should be used to protect our rivers, beaches and oceans, there are precious few financial resources available to meet the need. And while there is consensus on the need, the public demands that its money be spent wisely," states CEPRD Chairman Michael M. Hertel, Ph.D.

CEPRD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization established to promote greater understanding and awareness on topical environmental issues. Through the sponsorship of forums and original research, CEPRD provides policy makers with a vehicle to explore ideas in a consensus driven manner.
