5:00 PM Friday, October 4 Loading Dock Area

In direct response to a need for transportable decontamination (decon)
units by fire, police, disaster relief, hazmat, military, and other
rescue teams, Kohler Co., a world leader in bath and kitchen products,
engines and generators, developed a unique mobile system to address
situations such as chemical spills, nuclear contamination, dirty
bombs, or biological weapons.

The Minneapolis Fire Department has purchased three Kohler decon
units. The system on display at the Convention Center will be similar
to what the Fire Department will receive later this fall.

Due to IACP Convention security requirements, interviews and demos
must be scheduled.

To schedule an interview/demo anytime Friday or Saturday, Oct. 4 or 5,
contact: Kristine Heine, Global Communicators, 202-371-9600.

The trailer-truck unit features a 6-step decontamination process
including an external mass decontamination area, decontamination
entrance, disrobing room, private showering station, dressing room,
and clean exit area. Kohler Mobile Plumbing Systems cooperated with
the U.S. Army's Biological Task Force to design and develop a highly
effective decon unit. Each unit is custom-made to meet individual
clients' needs, as in the case of the Minneapolis Fire Department.
