Mike O'Neill, Partner, Kodiak Venture Partners

Mike O'Neill is Chairman of the Board of IceFyre Semiconductor, Inc., Legra Systems, Inc., Silicon Dimensions, Inc. and Taral Networks, Inc. He is a Board Member of DAFCA, Millennial Net, Inc. and Motia, Inc.

O'Neill's experience includes engineering, marketing and general management in semiconductors and hardware for the communications and IT industries. He served in various mainframe hardware development and engineering management roles at IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) . In the early 90s, he helped build IBM's merchant semiconductor business, where he was responsible for the definition and implementation of IBM's ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." A chip that is custom designed for a specific application rather than a general-purpose chip such as a microprocessor.  design methodology, technical marketing, and the establishment of multiple chip design centers. In 1998, O'Neill joined Philsar Semiconductor, and as VP of Sales & Marketing, drove the company's transformation from a design services team to a fabless semiconductor company A fabless semiconductor company specializes in the design and sale of hardware devices implemented on semiconductor chips. It achieves an advantage by outsourcing the fabrication of the devices to a specialized semiconductor manufacturer called a semiconductor foundry or "fab.  with multiple RF semiconductor products. He joined Kodiak in 2000, following the acquisition of Philsar Semiconductor by Conexant Systems.
