Who: Daniel A. Carp, Chairman and CEO, Eastman Kodak Company, will
deliver the keynote address at the "IDC Imaging Convergence Forum:
Exploring the Potential of Infoimaging" on August 6, 2002.
In his speech, titled "Infoimaging: A New Platform for Economic
Expansion," Carp will describe how infoimaging is creating growth
opportunities for business. Infoimaging is an industry created by
the convergence of image science and information technology. Made
up of three market segments - devices, infrastructure and services
and media - infoimaging is about images, enabled by technology,
improving communication and commerce. Just as the Internet has
changed the way people and businesses access information, Carp
will explain how infoimaging is changing the definition of
information itself and illustrate how infoimaging is changing the
way companies do business and how individuals communicate.
In addition to Carp, Kodak's Chief Technical Officer, Dr. James C.
Stoffel, will discuss "Drivers of the Growth Engine" during the
forum.
What: The "IDC Imaging Convergence Forum" will explore the
transformation of the imaging industry. Other companies
participating include AOL Time Warner, EMC Corp., Hewlett-Packard,
IBM Corp., Iron Mountain Inc., the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology Media Laboratory, and SONY Electronics Inc., as well as
John Sculley of Sculley Brothers LLC.
