Secure? Strategies and Technologies to Prevent, Detect and
Respond to the Growing Threat of Network Vulnerabilities."

Why: Network security breaches have been on the rise since 1999,
and continue to grow at an alarming rate. The Subcommittee on
Technology, Information Security, Policy, Intergovernmental
Relations and the Census will examine whether systems
throughout both federal government and the private sector are
being consistently evaluated and updated to prevent known
vulnerabilities.
Who: Dubhe Beinhorn, vice president of Juniper Federal Systems,
will participate on an industry panel discussing vulnerability
management strategies. Specifically, she will address how
networks create great value but at the same time, if not
designed in secure fashion, can create security problems. At
Juniper Networks, Beinhorn is responsible for the development
and execution of all aspects of federal activities.
