Competition gives children, ages 6 to 14, the opportunity to

learn baseball techniques from professionals and compete to

hit a baseball the farthest and most accurate. Winners

receive prizes and earn the chance to hit a baseball at

Dodger Stadium     [  later in the season.

PHOTO OP: Hundreds of kids receiving one-on-one instruction from

Dodger players and coaches, and vying head-to-head in the

Power Hitter competition.

WHO: Manny Mota with current and former Dodger players and

coaches.

WHY: This is the last of five Power Hitter Competitions held this

year at Los Angeles city schools and parks during the

summer. The event is one of many the DWP sponsors to

demonstrate its commitment to the community and the children

of Los Angeles.
