     What: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is
           teaming up with the Baldwin Hills Recreation Center to
           sponsor the 6th annual "Spot Shot" clinic and competition
           for boys and girls ages 7-15. The event begins with a
           clinic featuring Los Angeles Sparks' Head Coach and former
           Laker-great Michael Cooper providing skills tips to the
           young athletes. Immediately following the clinic the boys
           and girls will work against the clock to shoot as many
           baskets as possible from three different locations on the
           basketball court. First place winners from the three age
           groups (7 and under, 8-13, 14-15) will each receive a pair
           of tickets for an upcoming Los Angeles Lakers' basketball
           game, trophy, and "LADWP Spot Shot" T-shirt.

      Who: - Los Angeles Sparks Head Coach and former Laker-great
             Michael Cooper
           - Local radio sports personality Vic "The Brick" Jacobs
           - More than 100 young basketball fans
           - LADWP Representatives

     When: Saturday, March 15
           10 a.m. - Noon

    Where: Baldwin Hills Recreational Center
           5401 Highlight Place
           Los Angeles, CA 90016

 Photo Op: - More than 100 boys and girls receiving basketball skills
             tips from Los Angeles Sparks' Head Coach and former
             Laker-great Michael Cooper and participating in a
             basketball shooting competition.

           - Contest participants and community members visiting
             LADWP's interactive Children's Exhibit and receiving
             information about electric safety, water conservation,
             energy efficiency, and additional LADWP programs.

      Why: The event is one of the many ways that LADWP demonstrates
           its commitment to the community and the youth of
           Los Angeles.
