WHAT: Invitrogen Corp. (Nasdaq:IVGN), a global leader in
biotechnology tools and supplies, will host a grand opening
celebration and dedication of its new 320,000 square foot
building, the hub of its new life science campus in Carlsbad,
Calif. The building, one of the largest in North County, is
designed to house Invitrogen's rapidly growing manufacturing
and distribution operations. Lyle Turner, Invitrogen's CEO,
will discuss the 1,000 new high-technology jobs Invitrogen is
bringing to California, the $50 million dollars Invitrogen will
grant to life scientists to help develop new research tools,
and the financial and volunteer contributions Invitrogen is
making to local schools.

(Iowa), the chair of the appropriations subcommittee for the
