DANVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2000

IntraLinux is sponsoring a street fair in front of the Moscone Center The Moscone Center is San Francisco, California's largest convention and exhibition complex. The complex consists of two main underground halls underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, Moscone North and Moscone South, as well the three-level Moscone West exhibition hall across 4th Street.  with two events scheduled at 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM on Feb. 17, 2000.

The event will be held between 3rd and 4th Street on Howard in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden .

IntraLinux, Inc. is trying to help the business community learn more about the strategic value of open source solutions while bringing some clean fun into a rather serious and conservative exposition. IntraLinux representatives will be handing out free penguin peppermints, stuffed penguins and Linux information.

The main event includes a Celebrity Boxing Celebrity Boxing is a FOX television series, in which celebrities whose careers and/or notoriety had waned were pitted against each other in exhibition boxing matches. The contestants wore headgear during the fights, which were scheduled for three rounds apiece.  Match between a Bill Gates (person) Bill Gates - William Henry Gates III, Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, which he co-founded in 1975 with Paul Allen. In 1994 Gates is a billionaire, worth $9.35b and Microsoft is worth about $27b.  look-alike and Penguino, the IntraLinux mascot. Rolleen Myers and other members of the Oakland Raiderettes The Oakland Raiderettes are the cheerleading squad for the Oakland Raiders professional American football team. They were established in 1961 as the Oakland Raiderettes. When the Raiders moved to Los Angeles in 1982, the cheerleading squad became known as the Los Angeles  drill team will also be assisting with the IntraLinux event. Robert Close, a well known opera singer in the San Francisco community will also be performing. Attendees will recognize the IntraLinux? participants by their red bow ties and distinctive outfits.

Timed to correspond to the Moscone Center event, IntraLinux recently announced that it is sponsoring free e-mail See Internet e-mail service.  to the Linux community through one of their company web sites, www.intralinux.net.

The free email service will carry minimal advertising to all subscribers. However, the company policy is to only offer &uot;push&uot; solicitations to those who agree to receive them, and even then only for Linux-related products. The company also has a strong privacy policy. &uot;IntraLinux, Inc. policy is not to sell or distribute their subscriber list to anyone for any commercial purpose,&uot; says Carla Carlin car·line or car·lin
