    WHEN:       Today, Monday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003
                Mon., Oct. 27 through Fri., Oct. 31 from 5:00 p.m.
                 to 10:00 p.m.;
                Sat., Nov. 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.;
                Sun., Nov. 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    WHERE:      University Club of San Francisco
                800 Powell St. (corner of Powell and California Sts.)

    WHO:        60-70 men and women squash doubles teams, many
                national or world title holders, from the San
                Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, Colorado
                Springs, Denver, Santa Fe, St. Louis, Buffalo,
                Toronto, Montreal, New York City, Boston and
                Philadelphia. Competitors include Palmer Page, CEO of
                the United States Squash Racquets Association; Gordon
                Anderson, 10-time national champ; Bay Area residents
                Kevin Jernigan, defending world doubles champ in the
                30+ bracket, and John Lau, 3-time national champ.

    WHY:        First annual competition will inaugurate the
                University Club's new state-of-the-art squash and
                health center.

 Editions Squash Doubles Championships, a nationally-recognized, single-elimination squash tournament, begins today through Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week. , Nov. 2 at the University Club in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden , involving 60-70 doubles teams, many with national and world-ranked players, from Calif. (Bay Area), Ore., Wash., Colo., N.M., Mo., N.Y., Canada, Mass. and Pa.

Competition takes place in 9 categories: A Doubles, Women, B Doubles, Division II (C/D), 40+ Doubles, 50+ Doubles, 60+ Doubles, 70+ Doubles, and Mixed Doubles mixed doubles

. Matches are scheduled Monday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
