treatments for diabetes, heart disease and breast cancer exist, patients
allegedly are not receiving these treatments due to the difficulty in finding a
physician that understands and uses the treatments, according to a USAToday.com
article. The Institute of Medicine reportedly recommends improvements such as
giving patients more information about their health and having doctors keep
up-to-date on the latest scientific evidence instead of using outdated
treatments. The institute also suggests that doctors email or have telephone
