WHAT: APACHE will demonstrate its three newest
Internet-based decision support solutions at a healthcare industry

Designed to help cardiovascular (heart), acute and neonatal
(infant) intensive care specialists provide higher quality medical
care to their patients, reduce medical errors and improve clinical
outcomes, these APACHE software systems are the first in an ongoing
suite of Internet-based healthcare products being rolled out now as
part of the company's APACHE 2000 initiative. Focusing on clinical
decision support for the care of high-risk, high-cost patients, these
products will be available in commercial release throughout the year.
WHY: "These decision support applications represent the
leading edge in a suite of web-based APACHE products focused upon key
areas of patient care," noted APACHE CEO Peter Gladkin.
"With the availability of these `Gold Standard' decision support
tools over the world wide web, APACHE is well- positioned to become a
leading internet healthcare content provider. We are repositioning
APACHE as a global application service provider (ASP) of
Internet-based healthcare decision support. As such, we are
`broadening our reach while maintaining our focus' as the world wide
web opens up global markets for our company."
PRODUCT INFO: APACHE will show four clinical decision support
systems at HIMSS. Three of these are Internet-enabled applications:

-- APACHE(R)Acute Care Voyager+(TM)
"APACHE has long been internationally known in the field of
critical care," noted Gladkin. "With our new CV product, we can begin
to realize our dream of also becoming a leader in the field of
cardiovascular decision support."

these live, interactive Internet demonstrations at HIMSS 2000, the
healthcare information technology (HIT) industry's premier conference
and tradeshow.
Scheduled to be held Apr. 9-13, 2000, at the Dallas Convention
Center (Dallas, Tex.), HIMSS (www.himss.org) is sponsored by the

pleasure to know that our company's AViiON(TM) web servers and EMC(TM)
storage helped facilitate our partner APACHE's rapid development of an
Internet architecture for its `Gold Standard' decision support
systems. We are proud to have the opportunity to showcase their
software solutions at our HIMSS booth No. 2920 as they simultaneously
introduce these systems to the industry for the first time at their
booth. This partnership enables Data General to continue to realize
its mission of helping healthcare providers around the world use the
best technology to assist in delivering the best possible care." Stone
is vice president of Data General's worldwide healthcare division.
