WHAT: Illinois citizens across the state have contributed more

than 3,000 used wireless phones as part of a nationwide Donate

A Phone campaign to benefit victims of domestic violence. At

least 60 state legislators who are members of the Illinois

Conference of Women Legislators opened the doors of their

offices for the past three months to serve as collection

points for the used wireless phones.

The Donate A Phone campaign is a national collection drive

designed to collect no longer used wireless phones, recycle re·cy·cle

Donate A Phone program, started by the Wireless Foundation,

Motorola and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence

(NCADV NCADV National Coalition Against Domestic Violence ), aims to collect as many phones as necessary to meet

the needs of victims of abuse in America.
