ADVISORY/ITAA Innovation At the Edge Webcast: The battle over Voice over Internet Protocol in the States.

News Editors/Assignment Desks

ADVISORY...Monday (Sept. 8)

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

WHAT: Throughout 2003, the State Public Utility Commissioners
("PUC") around the United States have increased their
focus of VoIP technologies and some States have in fact
started taking specific actions to which the US VoIP
Industry now needs to pay special attention. ITAA's
Innovation at the Edge program will host a free webcast
to cover developments in the states and their potential
            impact on consumers.

WHEN: September 8, 2003 - 2pm eastern

WHERE: Register online for this free webcast:
            http://www.itaa.org/events/register.cfm?EventID=820

WHO: Two VoIP experts will present:

-- Jim Kohlenberger is a former White House Senior
Domestic Policy Advisor and specialist on telecom
                policy.

-- Jeff Pulver, President and CEO of pulver.com, Inc., is
a globally respected visionary with more than a decade
of experience in Internet and IP communications.

Why: ITAA's Innovation At-the-Edge's mission is to educate,
inform and organize opinion around the value proposition
of emerging "edge of the network" applications.

Its goal is to promote the accelerated adoption of "edge of the network" technologies and applications with potential customers and as a part of integrated service offerings. From a policy perspective the goal is to extend the availability of the network broadband IP applications by supporting policies that encourage deployment of IP-based technologies. Furthermore Innovation At-The-Edge strives to add to the value of edge of the network broadband IP applications by urging the government to maintain a "hands-off" approach to regulating the Internet and IP-based applications.
