Albula vulpes is widespread in warm, shallow marine waters, and Dixonina nemoptera is found only in the West Indies. and Tarpon tarpon (tär`pŏn), common name for members of the family Elopidae, large herringlike game fish of the warm seas of the Western Hemisphere, ranging occasionally from Long Island to Brazil and to the west coast of Africa and entering freshwater Unlimited, Tarpon Tomorrow and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is a Florida governmental organization created in 1999 with the purpose of regulating the environment and enforcing environmental legislation in the state of Florida. , this symposium will bring together internationally-recognized researchers, managers and sportfishermen to share their knowledge and concerns for the little known biology and life histories of tarpon and bonefish. The goal is to focus on future efforts to build sustainable fisheries for the species. Registration begins Thursday at 3 p.m. and Friday at 7:30 a.m. Presentations are Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. A $175.00 registration fee includes the Kickoff party, seminar and Friday dinner.
