Investment Considerations: - Earnings Performance: For the quarter ended December 31, 1999, earnings increased 24% to $18.9 million and increased 45% per diluted share to $0.32, compared to the same period in the prior fiscal year. Net income increased 18.3% to $13.6 million compared to $11.5 million for the same period in 1998. - Growth: Since its conversion to a Nasdaq-listed company, Independence has generated consistently dramatic growth in earnings per share and cash earnings per share, up 40 percent and 46 percent, respectively, for the nine months ended December 31, 1999. - Strategic Acquisitions: In August 1999, Independence completed its acquisition of Broad National Bancorporation, a commercial bank based in Newark, NJ, with 18 branches.
