WHAT: More than 500 students, teachers and volunteers from
Belmont and surrounding communities will roll up their
sleeves, grab brooms, mops, paint brushes and shovels, making
a clean sweep of Belmont High School's campus. Besides the
massive clean up effort, volunteers will enjoy a morning of
food, music and good company, as they join together to show
their commitment and neighborhood pride. Participants include
the Belmont ROTC, Central City Action Committee,
Salvadoran-American Leadership and Educational Fund (SALEF),
California Teachers Association (CTA), as well as LA
Councilmember, Eric Garcetti, District 13. Eliminating one of
the major sources of campus pollution, RecovrX Industries will
utilize its revolutionary gum removal system to rid the campus
of unsanitary gum.
