In commemoration of Philippine Independence Day (June 12), "The Alvarado Project" of San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  invites you to two promotional events in support of "Through My Father's Eyes", the exhibit of the late photographer Ricardo Alvarado.

The pioneering show will be showcased at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History The National Museum of American History is a museum administered by the Smithsonian Institution and located in Washington, D.C., on the National Mall. It opened in 1964 as the Museum of History and Technology and adopted its current name in 1980.  Behring Center Photo Documentary Gallery in Washington, D.C. on November 21, 2002 and will run through March 23, 2003.

Co-curators, Janet Alvarado and Dr. Franklin Dr. Franklin is a fictional villain from The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman television series portrayed by actor, John Houseman and usually considered a fan favorite among viewers of both series.  Odo of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program, will speak on the upcoming display and national tour.

About the Exhibition

Organized by The Alvarado Project, "Through My Father's Eyes" is a photographic history of the Filipino community during the post-war era in San Francisco.
