What: Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HWP) tomorrow will celebrate the
35th anniversary of HP Labs, one of the world's great research
laboratories. The event will outline HP's vision for the
future of computing, including:
-- Planetary-scale, internationally federated data centers
linking billions of users worldwide;
-- The coming revolution in imaging and printing;
-- Advanced systems to ensure the security and privacy of
users;
-- New methods for detecting usage patterns and exploiting
the full potential of the Web; and
-- Molecular electronics -- next-generation technology that
goes beyond the physical limits of silicon.
Dick Lampman, vice president of research at HP and director,
HP Labs, and several of HP's top scientists will discuss key
research projects underway at HP Labs. After the formal
presentations, the media will have an opportunity to meet with
the researchers to learn more about their projects.
