WHO: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and
Development, in partnership with Benjamin-Beechwood LLC is
hosting the groundbreaking. Alvin Benjamin, of Benjamin
Development, and Leslie A. Lerner of Beechwood will join
Jerilyn Perine, Commissioner, NYC Department of Housing
Preservation and Development.
WHAT: Arverne-by-the-Sea, the city's newest oceanfront community,
will be developed in several phases, and will culminate in a
mix of over 2,300 residential units, 200,000 square feet of
retail space, a new school, a community center, and parks and
green space. The groundbreaking marks the first phase of the
development.
WHEN: Thursday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m.
WHERE: Take the Belt Parkway to Cross Bay Blvd. South. Cross over
the Cross Bay Bridge into Rockaway. Follow signs to Shore
Front Parkway. Make a left on Shore Front Parkway, and take
that to Beach 73rd Street. The entrance is on the corner.
