It was founded in 1902 to deliver water and electricity supplies to residents and businesses in Los Angeles.
What: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and
the Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting an all-girls softball
Power Hitter Clinic and Competition at Dodger Stadium for
the second consecutive year. This event will feature
hundreds of softball players, ages 7-14, participating in
hitting, pitching, catching and fielding clinics led by
Dodger pitcher Tom Martin; Dodger infielder Jason Romano;
and Dodger coaches Manny Mota and Glenn Hoffman.
2000 U.S. Olympic softball team gold medalists and
original members of the women's professional baseball
team who inspired the movie "A League of Their Own" will
also be on hand. After this training session the young
ladies will compete in a hitting competition with winners
advancing to a final contest to be held at Dodger Stadium
later in this season.
