WHAT: Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "the premier sports
awards dinner in the country," the 15th Annual Cedars-Sinai
Sports Spectacular brings together more than 1,500 prominent
sports figures, entertainers and business, civic and
community leaders, to honor the country's top sports stars
while helping to combat genetic birth defects.

WHY: The world-renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Genetics Birth
Defects Center is taking the lead to find cures against
genetic birth defects by raising money through this event.
The Sports Spectacular raised more than $1 million in each
of the last 2 years to help in the research, prevention
and diagnosis of hereditary disorders and birth defects
affecting fetuses, newborns, children and adults.
The Center's multi-disciplinary team of physicians,
scientists, genetic counselors, technicians, nurses and
social workers are specialists in diagnosing and addressing
the concerns of families with a genetic disorder or birth
defect and those at risk for developing a genetic disorder.
