It is intended to enrich the lives of students by acquainting them with the world of work through on-the-job experience and carefully crafted curriculum.

The American Hotel &Motel Association (AH&A), the National Restaurant Association, and their educational partner, the Hospitality Business Alliance (HBA (Host Bus Adapter) See host adapter. ) collaborate each year to provide students with the opportunity to learn hands-on by &uot;shadowing&uot; an employee for the day. Celebrated on February 2, the goal of the program is to mentor America's youth and provide them with a close-up look at the vast career opportunities that exist in the hospitality industry.

           In addition, hospitality professionals and their students
           will also be in attendance.

WHAT:      A press conference featuring hospitality executives will
           kick off the event. General Powell and Miss America will
           take a tour and see hospitality professionals and their
           shadows behind the scenes at the Loews L'Enfant Plaza. The
           event ends with a luncheon celebrating the hospitality
           industry's participation in National Groundhog Job Shadow
           Day 2000. There will be opportunities for photos and
           questions.
