Fresh Start Surgical Gifts will hold their 8th and last "Surgery Weekend" of the year 2000 this weekend at the medical center in Encinitas. Dedicated volunteers from around the county including doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, dentists, and other medical professionals will perform over 12 major operations this weekend. Among the patients receiving major surgeries this weekend is 23-year old Mitchell from San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. who was accidentally shot in the face with a 12-gauge shotgun.
