WHO: Sav-on drug and Albertson's stores

WHAT: In recognition of March 28 as American Diabetes Alert Day,
      Sav-on drug and Albertson's stores will offer free diabetes
      screenings at 151 locations. The American Diabetes Association
      (ADA) has designated the day to raise awareness and facilitate
      early diagnosis of this serious disease, which affects many
      Americans, especially in their later years.

WHEN: March 28 and 29, from 3-7 p.m.

WHERE: To locate the nearest Sav-on and Albertson's stores conducting
       screenings, call 888/4-HELP-01.

WHY: Early diabetes detection can save lives. Nearly 1,700 people
     are diagnosed with diabetes every day. However, experts estimate
     that one-third of all Americans with diabetes remain undiagnosed.
     Each year, close to 200,000 people die or become blind from
     complications of the disease.
